Glycolic acid is one of the most commonly used AHA acids ( alpha-hydroxy acids) in cosmetics. Thanks to its structure, which allows it to penetrate into the deep layers of the skin, it ensures high efficiency of use. The acid is used to exfoliate the epidermis and stimulate skin cell renewal. It is usually obtained from sugar cane or fruit (grapes, apples or gooseberries).
